War Relief Funds for Areas Worst Hit by War and Terrorism
“’Comfort, comfort my people,’ says your God.” Isaiah 40:1
“Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you...For your name’s sake, Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.” Psalm 143:9,11
Since CFI’s founding in 1985, the people of Israel have suffered extensively due to the acts of war and terrorism perpetrated by several of the neighbouring countries in the Middle East. Over this timeframe, Israel has suffered the following conflicts:
- First Intifada (1987 – 1993)
- Second Intifada (2000 – 2005)
- Lebanon / Hezbollah War (2006; 2024)
- Gaza / Hamas Wars (2008; 2011; 2014; 2021; 2023 - Present)
- Iran War (2024-5)
Even during times of supposed peace, Israel has been subject to ongoing onslaughts of missiles and rockets from some of its neighbours. These conflicts have caused much devastation in Israel and just since October 2023, approximately 300,000 Israelis have been displaced from their homes, many of which were either damaged or destroyed by missiles, rockets or arson.
Through all of this time, CFI has acted to fulfil its calling to be a friend that loves at all times, and a brother that is there to help in time of trouble (Proverbs 17:17). CFI has sought to raise war relief aid and distribute it however possible to bring practical assistance to those most in need, in ways which help them to understand that there are many Christians around the world who love and pray for them and are standing by them in their suffering and sorrow. Here are just some of the ways in which CFI has been helping the many communities under attack:
- Grants for communities towards repairs and infrastructure
- Replacement of belongings such as fridge-freezers, ovens, washing machines and furniture
- Clean-up operations
- Home restorations and redecorations and garden makeovers
- Events, entertainment and activities to improve morale
