Nurturing Relationships with Holocaust Survivors
“Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered through the countries.” Ezekiel 6:8
“…and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD…” Jeremiah 30:17
The CFI outreach team continues to minister to the lives of Holocaust survivors across Israel in some 55 cities. Having begun this outreach in the late 1980s, CFI’s is the only Christian home visiting team in Israel which has been recognised and endorsed by the Association of Holocaust Survivors. These elderly survivors, many of whom are Russian-speaking, have experienced enormous tragedies in their lives, the greatest of which has been hatred and rejection for simply being Jewish. The war beginning in 2023 has reignited the trauma and harrowing memories of the past for many of them.
In these latter years of their lives, they are receiving hope and encouragement from Christian volunteers who sincerely love and care for them. Their response to genuine care, prayer and compassion has been overwhelming. Deep bonds of love have enabled the Forsake Them Not team to minister God’s love and grace to these hurting and wounded hearts.
