Summer is here in Israel. The October 7 war is still going on, but in Jerusalem it has been peaceful. During June, as well as meeting people, there has been more admin work to do, and I have had a lot of communication with my contacts and also with other organizations.

Essential needs often are not small for people whose lives terrorism has affected in many ways. If they want to find a new path for their lives after destruction, CFI wants to help with this. I am grateful that we may have found some ways, through this challenging situation, to find the key to open the window of hope. This takes time, communication and co-operation in many ways.

Katia and Dima are residents of a kibbutz in the Gaza ‘Envelope’ (border area). They are believers and they are still evacuees since October 7. As soon as the Israeli government and army approves their return, they want to go back to live in the kibbutz, in their original home.

On 7.10.23 Hamas terrorists were in their home but by a miracle they were unharmed! Their home needs rebuilding and they want to start to do it when entry is approved, so they are planning for this. All this process takes time. Please pray for Katia and her family as they will have to live still maybe even another year as evacuees, before can permanently move back to their home. Also please pray that they will find builders which are affordable and good, to do the necessary rebuilding and renovations to their house. CFI can also help with this when it becomes clearer how they can move ahead with the rebuilding.

During June I have been communicating with a Nova music festival survivor. We are looking for the best way to help her. Her injury from October 7, when she was shot by a terrorist, is preventing her from going back to work in the profession she had. Now she has made a few plans for the future. She wants to do retraining in a field that is related to her previous profession, but wonders what she can do for now. Retraining is costly but we can help her and also have been communicating with other organizations which can participate. Then in practical terms she can start to look ahead, also professionally. Please pray for her and for her recovery.

Flora lives in Jerusalem. She looks ahead and wants to get back to life after returning back to Israel. She was hurt in a terror attack when she was young. Thankfully she has recovered some injuries but it takes time and lots of effort. CFI may be able to help her to pay for her orthopaedic shoes, which are much needed. Please pray for her recovery and her life again here in Israel.

We are in difficult situation for now, in this little land. There is lot of pain and grief but also many reasons to be grateful. The God of Israel does miracles among His people. Pray for healing and a new start for people who have suffered losses because of terror and war.

From Jerusalem: Shalom.
