"But Zion said, 'The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.' Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands" (Isaiah 49, 14 – 16).
Yes, the Lord will never forget his children. He has inscribed us on the palms of his hands. He will never forget his people, he cares deeply about them. The Ethiopian community in Israel is also important for him. He does not forget anyone. Some of them turned to us with their needs.
We are still waiting for a new coordinator to come and take care of the project ”Hope for the future”. Indeed there is a person already coming to fill the gap so please pray that she will get her visa and arrive very soon.
In the meantime we are happy that we have been able to come alongside several Israelis with Ethiopian background who received financial help from CFI. We have also received more applications. For example, one student needs a computer and a single mother has asked for support for every day needs. One sweet lady simply asked us to come and visit her in her home.
We also continue to help the special after school programme for Ethiopian Jews in the city of Bnei Brak. CFI´s long time friend, Rachel Mangoli, has been struggling to keep her wonderful project going due to a lack of support. We visited her at the end of 2023 and she recently came to Jerusalem to visit us at our offices, sharing the pain and burden she feels about not wanting to see her important programme close.
We made the decision to cover different costs of the building where the children spend time and learn different things after school. This centre has been a second home for many of them and we see much good fruit from Rachel´s ministry.
Please pray for Rachel and for this precious and unique after school programme. Please pray for the children, for the young students and for the volunteers. May the name of the Lord be glorified in everything we do to help these precious people.
One single mother of two children was in a difficult financial situation. In the past she went through a difficult time of sickness, surgery and its complications. When she was married, her husband was the main breadwinner. But since the divorce she got in a very difficult financial situation. She is working three days a week as a nanny. Because her salary is very small, she could no longer pay her rent and moved to her mother who is living with some other children. They live all together in a small apartment. The young mother is sleeping on the ground in the living room because there is no more space in the apartment for a lot of people. She is dreaming of earning more money so that she can afford her own apartment with her children. She was very glad about our visit and the financial help. We are also very happy to have the opportunity to help people in need.
Other Ethiopian Jews also turned to us for help. One young woman lost her job because of the war and got in financial trouble. Another young woman is living with her mother and other sisters and brothers in a small house. They suffer from physical and mental health problems and are in a difficult financial situation.
But God does not forget anyone. He cares about each of his children and has inscribed them on the palms of his hands.
Thank you so much for your prayers and donations which are very important for us and enable us to continue the work in the Project Hope for the Future.
May God bless you abundantly! He has inscribed you on the palms of His hands. You are very important for him.
