Cataclysm Series 09 – The Day of the Lord Part 1
And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:19-21
In this talk, Geoff argues that it is only finding consistency between the prophetic scriptures that we can come to understand the truth. The verses in Peter’s second letter remind us that, although there are multiple human writers, it is the Holy Spirit who is THE author. Thus, there has to be a consistent message. Every prophetic scripture has to fit together. In this talk, we consider the prophetic sequences in Joel chapter two and in Revelation chapters six through eight. These passages compliment all that Jesus said to his disciples in what we know as the Olivet Discourse. We also consider prophetic passages in the major prophets, notably, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel.
